- Zinc prices rose by 0.05 per cent to Rs 429.25 per kg in futures trade on Thursday due to higher bets by market participants.
- On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery edged up by 20 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 429.25 per kg with a business turnover of 481 lots.
- Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to higher demand in the spot market.

Commodities Market Live Updates: Silver futures decline to Rs 2.43 lakh/kg
Silver prices on Thursday fell by Rs 568 to Rs 2,43,645 per kilogram in futures trade as participants reduced their bets. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery declined by Rs 568, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 2,43,645 per kg in a business turnover of 1,262 lots.

- Indian government bonds weakened for a second straight day on Thursday, pressured by rising U.S. Treasury yields and crude prices holding above $100/barrel, raising inflation concerns.
- The benchmark 6.94% 2036 bond yield was perched at 6.9665% as of 10:20 a.m. IST, up 1 basis point from previous close.
- A 25 basis-point Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) hike to 3.25% cannot be ruled out, Axis Capital said in a note.
- The one-year rate was at 6.0150%, the two-year at 6.2050%, and the five-year hovered at 6.5075%. All three gained about 3 basis points.

Bonds Market Updates | US Treasury yields hit highest level since 2023 as buyback disappoints
- Benchmark U.S. 10-year Treasury yields climbed to their highest level since 2023 on Wednesday after the Treasury Department's announcement of an expanded buyback of longer-dated bonds fell short of some investors' expectations, Reuters reported.
- The 10-year yield later eased from its session high after investors showed strong demand for a $39 billion auction of 10-year notes. The Treasury is scheduled to buy up to $6 billion of 10- to 20-year Treasury bonds during its buyback operation on Thursday, three times the size of its previous long-dated operation.
