I’m writing as a colleague of Daniel Rosa, a developer I have worked with on multiple projects and continue to work with today.
Daniel’s GitHub account appears to have been suspended following an enforcement action. At this point, he is still trying to understand what specifically triggered the action, what he may need to correct or verify, and what the proper path is to restore access.
I want to be clear that this post is not an attempt to bypass GitHub’s policies or moderation process. Daniel intends to follow GitHub’s official appeal and reinstatement procedures and cooperate fully with whatever information or verification may be required.
I’m speaking publicly because I know Daniel personally and professionally. In the projects we have worked on together, I have always known him as a responsible developer, committed to good practices, his clients and his teammates.
The impact of this situation goes far beyond access to a profile. GitHub is part of his professional infrastructure, including repositories, project history, collaborations and ongoing work. The uncertainty is affecting Daniel, his family, coworkers, clients and other people who depend on projects connected to his account.
We are not asking GitHub to ignore its policies or give him special treatment.
We are simply asking for his case to receive a careful review through the official process and for Daniel to have a clear opportunity to understand what happened and what steps he can take next.
If there was activity that needs to be corrected, we hope he can be informed and given the opportunity to address it where GitHub’s policies allow. If there was a misunderstanding or incorrect enforcement action, we hope the appeal process can identify that as well.
This situation is also an important reminder for developers about how much of our work can depend on a single platform, and why repository backups, redundancy and continuity planning matter.
For anyone in the GitHub community who has legitimate experience with the official appeal process, constructive guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Please do not contact or target individual GitHub employees on Daniel’s behalf. The goal here is simply to help this case reach the appropriate process and, hopefully, a fair resolution.
Thank you to everyone who can help with constructive guidance, and thank you to GitHub for reviewing the case through the appropriate channels.
