Use the REST API to manage repository forks.

List forks

Parameters for "List forks"

Headers
Name, Type, Description
`accept` string Setting to `application/vnd.github+json` is recommended.
Path parameters
Name, Type, Description
`owner` string Required The account owner of the repository. The name is not case sensitive.
`repo` string Required The name of the repository without the `.git` extension. The name is not case sensitive.
Query parameters
Name, Type, Description
`sort` string The sort order. `stargazers` will sort by star count. Default: `newest` Can be one of: `newest`, `oldest`, `stargazers`, `watchers`
`per_page` integer The number of results per page (max 100). Default: `30`
`page` integer Page number of the results to fetch. Default: `1`

Create a fork

Works with GitHub Apps

Create a fork for the authenticated user.

Note: Forking a Repository happens asynchronously. You may have to wait a short period of time before you can access the git objects. If this takes longer than 5 minutes, be sure to contact GitHub Enterprise Server Support.

Note: Although this endpoint works with GitHub Apps, the GitHub App must be installed on the destination account with access to all repositories and on the source account with access to the source repository.
