Did Germany plan to increase electricity consumption? Gas heating is still king there, and Germany famously promotes hydrogen (mostly from gas) over battery vehicles.

Ah yes let’s ignore shutting down nuclear reactors replacing them with coal power plants in the name of green energy which was so successful the country goes through a period every year called Dunkelflaute.

But yes let’s strawman into cars and heating instead.

Btw excess heat from the reactor can be and is used for central heating.


Not really. Situation now is totally different to what it was when Germany made those decisions. In Finland shutting down nuclear hasn't really been something that has been discussed seriously in very long time.

And yet here we, burning coal because god forbid we run a few nuclear reactors right, green energy for everyone! An amazing success!
